Updates
What's new in each version of Wamoboard. Updates install from inside the app: it tells you when there's a new one.
Whirlboard is now Wamoboard
- Whirlboard has a new name: Wamoboard. It's the same app, easier to say and to type in any language.
- Your license key, settings and boards stay exactly as they are. Nothing to do on your side.
- The website is now wamoboard.com, and support is at support@wamoboard.com.
- On Windows, if you see both Whirlboard and Wamoboard after the update, you can uninstall Whirlboard from Settings → Apps. Your boards and license stay.
Leave a review from inside the app
- New “Leave a review” button in Settings → About & License: tell others how you use Wamoboard. It opens wamoboard.com/reviews with the review form ready and copies your license key for it.
- The button only shows on computers where Wamoboard is activated, and disappears once your license has left a review.
Licenses for teams and schools
- Business and Education licenses: one key for all of a team's or school's computers.
- Companies, schools and public institutions can ask for a quote and pay by invoice.
- Settings shows your license type and the computers it's for.
- A clearer message when a team license has no free computers left.
Work together on docs, follow people, share several boards
- Edit a doc together in real time: everyone's changes and new pages show up right away.
- See who's in a doc: their card on the board gets their color, and inside the doc you see the paragraph they're on.
- Comments inside docs, just like on the board: select some words, click Comment, and a pin stays on them with replies, times and delete. They're saved with the board, so people who join later see them.
- The board's owner can delete all comments on a board, or in a doc, from the Comments button (it asks twice).
- Follow someone: click their face at the top to see exactly what they see, until you move the board yourself.
- Keep sharing a board while you work on other ones, and share several boards at once. Shared boards are marked Live in the sidebar.
- Closing Wamoboard asks first when people are connected, or when something couldn't be saved.
- "Erase all" for drawings asks first.
- A mouse wheel zooms in small steps; the touchpad keeps scrolling. Shift + wheel moves sideways.
- A home button next to the board's name.
- The icons panel closes when you click elsewhere.
- Windows: no more console window flashing when Settings opens.
Search, and fixes for Windows
- Search (⌘F on Mac, Ctrl+F on Windows): find projects and any text on your boards, and jump right to it.
- People you invite with edit access can work on your board even without a license of their own.
- Settings button in the top bar, and a link to what's new when an update is ready.
- Projects keep their place in the sidebar when you open them.
- Deleting several comments at once asks you first.
- Windows: undo, redo and the other shortcuts work on the board.
- Windows: zoom with a two-finger pinch on the touchpad.
- Windows: the installer shows Wamoboard as the publisher.
Settings, Word and PDF files, formatted paste
- New Settings page (⌘, on Mac, Ctrl+, on Windows) with tabs: Features, Tools panel, Shortcuts and About.
- Turn off the features you don't use. Their tools, buttons and shortcuts disappear; what's already on your boards stays.
- Choose which tools the left panel shows, or hide the whole panel with ⌥⌘T (Ctrl+Alt+T on Windows).
- See every shortcut on a picture of the keyboard and change the ones you want.
- Drop Word, Markdown or text files on a board: they become docs, with their headings, lists and links.
- Drop PDF files on a board: they stay linked to the file on your computer, and a double-click opens a preview.
- Text pasted into a doc from Google Docs, Word or a web page keeps its formatting.
- Export a doc as PDF.
- People you share a board with can't add files to it.
Security update
- Live sharing is safer: everything that comes from other people is checked before Wamoboard shows it.
- People you share a board with can't reach files on your computer.
- Someone you remove from a board can't come back with the same invite code. The Share panel gives you a new one for everyone else.
- Wamoboard only opens boards, images and the files you export, nothing else on your computer.
- Sharing keeps working if someone floods your connection while a board is shared.
Back arrow and About & License
- A back arrow next to the board's name takes you to the home screen.
- New About & License page: your version and updates, your license and how many computers use it, and where to get help.
